Our arbitration team operates across key jurisdictions, including London, Singapore, Oslo, and Shanghai, and works seamlessly across both civil and common law systems. We combine a strong local presence with a truly international reach, providing tailored advice to clients across a broad range of sectors.

The team is regularly engaged in complex, high-value disputes involving multiple parties and jurisdictions, and is trusted by international clients in matters that require both legal precision and commercial strategy.

Clients highlight quality and strategic insight

Viktor Kurtsev of Naftogaz describes Wikborg Rein as “a law firm of ultimate quality when it comes to dispute resolution in oil and gas”. He adds that the firm offers an “outstanding option in terms of quality to price ratio”, noting that even when cases are lost “you can be sure that all remedies were exhausted”.

He highlights partner Aadne Haga for his “outstanding professional skills and the highest level of sophistication”, as well as his ability to understand political context.

Olga Ivaniv is praised as a “profound lawyer and bright-minded person”, while Anne-Karin Nesdam is commended for her ability to explain complex legal issues clearly. Associate Hugo Pignol is considered a “rising star”.

Trygve Faksvaag of Yara International describes Wikborg Rein as having an “impressive international arbitration practice” and calls Haga “a trusted advisor who understands what is important and allocates resources where they are needed the most”.

Marie Nesvik is highlighted for her performance at hearings, where she presents “convincingly and impressively”.

Extensive arbitration experience

Wikborg Rein represent clients in both ad hoc and institutional arbitration proceedings, including under the rules of leading arbitral institutions such as ICC, SCC, LCIA, SIAC, DIA, OCC, CIETAC, ICSID and FAI, as well as frameworks such as UNCITRAL and NOMA. We also act in arbitration-related court proceedings, both in Norway and internationally.

The practice comprises dedicated specialists with extensive experience as counsel and advisors in complex cross-border disputes, led by partners with strong legal expertise and commercial acumen.

We sincerely thank our clients for their continued trust and valued collaboration, and our colleagues for their dedication and contribution to this recognition.
