Chelsea is dual qualified in China and in England and Wales. Her main area of practice lies within the maritime, shipping and offshore, petroleum and energy fields. Chelsea has a broad range of experience specializing in construction, purchase and sale and financing (including financial leasing) of commercial ships and offshore units together with their employment, operation, disposal and dispute resolution. In addition, Chelsea’s practice also encompasses marine insurance and international arbitration in relation to shipbuilding contracts, financial/operating leasing projects. Chelsea’s clients are Chinese financial institutions, international shipowners, private and state-owned shipyards, trading houses and Chinese state-owned oil companies. She serves as the primary point of contact for Chinese leasing houses and has represented financial providers, builders and owners in numerous newbuilding, cross-border trading and leasing transactions involving multiple jurisdictions.
