Jens Christian advises key players in the financial sector on complex and strategically important financial regulatory matters. He advises all types of financial institutions, including banks, insurers, fintechs and payment institutions, and focuses on licensing processes, regulatory structuring, capital requirements (CRR/CRD), solvency regulation (Solvency II) and ongoing compliance, including DORA, MiCA and PSD3. He is frequently engaged in matters requiring close dialogue with supervisory authorities. Jens Christian previously served as Deputy Director General and head of the legal section for banking and insurance at the Norwegian Ministry of Finance. There he led the development of financial sector legislation and handled regulatory cases concerning financial institutions. He has extensive experience with crisis management and resolution, including participation in resolution colleges for systemically important banks. He was responsible for EEA-related processes in the financial markets area and chaired the EFTA working group on financial services. Jens Christian has in-depth knowledge of both Norwegian and EU financial regulation, and of how regulatory frameworks are developed and applied in practice across jurisdictions. Jens Christian serves as a member of the Norwegian FSA Appeals Tribunal (Finanstilsynsklagenemnda, 2025–2029) and the JUS Advisory Committee for Banking, Finance and Currency.
