The long-awaited 20th package of sanctions was adopted by the EU on 23 April 2026, comprising 120 new individual listings along with wide-ranging economic measures targeting key sectors fuelling Russia's war of aggression against Ukraine.

On 26 November 2025, the UK's Serious Fraud Office (SFO) refreshed its Guidance on Evaluating a Corporate Compliance Programme (the "Guidance"). The key takeaway from the revised Guidance is that the SFO's assessment of a compliance programme's effectiveness is increasingly outcome-based, requiring companies to demonstrate that their paper policies and procedures translate into actual conduct in practice.

The beginning of 2026 brought with it a dramatic US military intervention against Venezuela's president. The operation, which has sparked international debate, led to the capture of President Nicolás Maduro, who now faces criminal charges related to narcoterrorism and drug trafficking in the US.

The Norwegian Consumer Authority (Forbrukertilsynet) has issued revised guidance on due diligence obligations under the Norwegian Transparency Act. Published in December 2025, the guidance is the most significant update since the Act entered into force and offers some useful pointers for how companies should continue to improve the design and implementation of their human rights due diligence.

Recent developments have resulted in the full reinstatement of UN sanctions against Iran, targeting the country's nuclear and ballistic missiles programmes. This, in turn, has triggered the EU and UK to adopt even broader restrictions against certain sectors in Iran and against persons and individuals connected with Iran.

The corporate offence of 'failure to prevent fraud', established by the Economic Crime and Corporate Transparency Act 2023 (ECCTA), is now in force as of 1 September 2025. This marks a significant new phase for large organisations with UK connections, which should now take steps towards active mitigation of fraud risks.

In September 2025, the UK’s new corporate “failure to prevent fraud” offence introduced under the Economic Crime and Corporate Transparency Act 2023 (the "Act"), will come into force. The Act is part of the UK government's ongoing and wider efforts to reform corporate criminal enforcement in the UK, including to strengthen corporate accountability.

Hanne har bred erfaring innenfor compliance, med særlig fokus på komplekse granskinger med internasjonal vinkling, foretaksstraff,  sanksjoner, antikorrupsjonsarbeid og menneskerettigheter og ansvarlig næringsliv. Hun er en allsidig advokat som jobber med en rekke saker for store bedriftskunder – fellesnevnerne er kompleksitet og internasjonalt fokus.

Hanne jobber med klienter på tvers av ulike sektorer, og har særlig erfaring med industrikonsern, selskaper innen telekom- og fornybar-sektorene og finansinstitusjoner. Hun har i tillegg erfaring fra stilling som Chief Compliance Officer i et norsk børsnotert selskap med fokus på fornybar energi. 

Hanne er rangert som en "Leading Associate" av Legal500, beskrevet som 'a key contact for cross-border investigations and complex international disputes'.

Hanne er også medlem av Advokatforeningens Utvalg for Advokatetikk.

Hanne har en Bachelor of Laws (First Class Honours) fra University of Essex og en Master of Laws (LLM) i International Business Law (Distinction) fra London School of Economics.
